Bepex Indirect Dryers

Indirect dryers transfer heat to the product through contact with a jacketed surface that is usually heated by steam or a thermal fluid, or cooled by a fluid. Indirect Drying systems are ideally suited to desolventizing. As solvents are generally flammable and/or require recovery, inert gas (usually nitrogen) is almost always required in the system. By reducing the noncondensable gases in the system, solvent recovery is maximized while capital and operating costs are reduced. Indirect thermal processors require a mechanical system to agitate the bed of material and transport it through the dryer. Many materials benefit from this agitation.

Solidaire
TorusDisc
The Solidaire® offers Indirect, direct or combination thermal processing. As an indirect thermal processor, the Solidaire® is a thin film paddle type that produces unsurpassed heat transfer coefficients. Simple to maintain and operate.
The TorusDisc® is a bed type thermal processor with a heated disc rotor in a U-shaped body. The TorusDisc® rotor does not convey product, which allows maximum rotor speed for maximum efficiency. The disc rotor and jacket design offers very high heat transfer area in a compact unit, which allows installation of this indirect drying unit in limited spaces.
Continuator
Thermascrew
The Continuator® is generally a second stage indirect dryer that might follow our Solidaire® or TorusDisc®. This jacketed paddle-type processor maintains product temperature, while utilizing a counter-current gas purge or through the bed gas purge to meet low product volatile requirements.
The Thermascrew® is a single or twin-screw conveyor with heated screw(s) and jacketed body. Material is conveyed in a plug flow fashion. Gentle action of the screws minimizes particle size reduction.

The Purge Vessel is generally a second stage dryer that might follow our Solidaire® or TorusDisc®. This non-mechanical device maintains product temperature, while utilizing a counter-current gas purge to meet very low product volatile requirements.
